A grass particle system made in Blender using multiple grass and weed models.

Inspired by Blenderguru's Grass essentials, I tried to create my own grass, implementing his explanations and observations. 

I modeled four different green grass models, a few weeds and two brown, dry grass models. The three groups were added to individual particle systems, which have their own density and height settings and variations: Weeds are spread evenly across the scene, normal grass is also present in most parts, but varies in height, and dry grass will appear sporadically.
