A procedural texture of a wooden floor, created in blender's node editor.
I used blender's procedural materials before, but still needed image textures for most surfaces, especially for irregular shapes.
However, it is relatively easy to create a few simple materials, for example bricks. As wooden a floor is structured the same way, I could use a "brick texture" to overlay the gaps on a wood grain texture, which could be approximated by a repeated saw gradient with different brown tones mapped noise texture. Blender creates a random color for each brick in the brick texture, which can be used as an offset for the wood grain, to create the look of individual planks.
